RAF Cosford Trip

The RAF Museum at Cosford is a magical place for children and grown-ups with more than 70 aircraft on display. The museum also houses the National Cold War exhibition. The museum is worth taking a day over so remember to pack a picnic lunch.

There are five main areas to the museum, the Cold War exhibition, test flight, warplanes, hangar one and the RAF history. The test flight section contains a very popular hands-on area which allows people to explore flight there are over 20 different experiments that can be experienced. The warplanes section features aircraft from Britain Germany America Japan and Argentina. Covers airliners and RAF transport aircraft it also houses a collection of engines and missiles.

RAF Cosford makes a great day out it is less than 30 min drive from Shrewsbury entrance to the museum is free there is a charge for parking. One of the best features of the museum is the fact that so many of the exhibits are huge and visitors can get close and walk round and see them from all sides, add to this the number of hands-on exhibits and interactive stations in the Cold War section and it is very easy to keep kids entertained.

We went to Attingham Park

We saw Snowdrops

The trees have no leaves

The buds are new leaves growing
More buds almost ready to open

Even in the cold weather the ducks swim on the river

We found some fungus

Everyone looked at it very closely

Some trees keep their leaves all year round - we call these evergreens
When there are no leaves on the trees you can see things that are normally hidden, like this bird nest.
