Armed Forces visit

Armed Forces Visit

On the 29th of June we were lucky enough to receive a visit from a soldier called Tony. Tony works on the Army base in our very own Shrewsbury town. We think that the Armed forces do a great job for our country which is why we wanted to celebrate Armed Forces Day that was being held on the 30th of June.
Here is Tony getting his kit ready to show the children

He laid it all out ready on the floor for us to look at. He bought a lot of kit including hats, medals, binoculars, dog tags, boots and camoflage cream.

Tony shows us how he can unscrew his flashlight to change the colour of the lens. The pre-school thought this was very interesting.
Xade has a go with the flashlight.

Alfie and Tyler have so much fun looking through the binoculars. They said they made everything look much bigger than in real life!

We think it was very nice of Tony to show us the shiny medals that he had gained whilst working in the Army. Layton, Xade, Alfie and Amee all looked very impressed.

The children had so much fun trying on the hats. Amarpreet and Diana loved wearing them and Becks and Layton also had a go.

Here's Alfie on the left wearing his own Army uniform. He came to nursery dressed like this to show all of his friends. On the right Layton puts his feet into Tony's boots. They look a bit big!

Finally Club 0-14 would like to thank Tony for taking time out of his busy day to come in and tell us all about what he does in the Armed Forces. We are also very grateful that he could bring in so much of his kit for us to see and help us be a part of Armed Forces Day.
